Alternative Modes of Advertising that You’ve Probably Never Considered Before!

When it comes to advice on advertising your small business there are seemingly endless articles and blog posts out there. But many of them focus on the same old things: online advertising, SEO, PPC marketing… the list goes on and on. Now, these are brilliant ways to direct a little more consumer traffic in your direction. But if you’re already familiar with these methods and have them in place, or are merely looking for something a little different, you’re in the right place! Here are a few different modes of advertising that you’ve probably never considered before

Advertising On Your Vehicle

Take a moment to consider how far your vehicle travels over the course of a week, a few months, or even a year. Pretty far, huh? Now think of all of the people that absentmindedly see your vehicle as you drive past, sit alongside others in traffic, or park up in public places. This is all a wasted opportunity for a little advertising! Think about it: you can put your logo and graphics on your vehicles and turn them into a form of advertisement. The more notable the design, the more likely people are to keep you in mind and look you up later. Just remember to include an idea of what your company does, alongside your business name, brand logo and contact details such as your business email address or the number of your business phone. Alternatively, for something a little more subtle, you could add your company logo to bumper stickers that can go on your own car and others’ cars too!

Branded Pens

Pens are perhaps one of the most stolen items out there. Sure, people don’t tend to go anywhere with the intention of pocketing someone else’s pen, but they’re the kind of thing that people place in their pocket or keep a hold of out of sheer habit. This is irritating. But you might as well make something positive of a negative where possible. Ensure that all of the pens used in your commercial space are branded. This way, at least your brand name will be spread far and wide as the pen passes from one person to another. This will stick in people’s minds and you never know, one of your pens might make its way into the hands of your next biggest customer, client, or business partner.

A Blimp

Sure, hiring out a blimp to float your branded messages across the skies may seem extravagant. But when’s the last time you saw a blimp? Probably a long time ago, right? One of these is bound to draw a whole lot of attention in the local area. Anything that’s out of the ordinary is bound to get people talking. So every penny will generally be worth it. Try to ensure that the blimp that you have hired is in your brand colors and is placed in a busy area. This form of advertising really goes to show that the sky’s the limit!

Pinterest Boards

Nowadays, aesthetic counts for a lot. Most of the time, people will buy something that fits in with their personal aesthetic. This spreads from their clothing, to their homeware, their vehicles, and more… Just take a look at the profound success of Instagram, an app which is essentially a public or semi-public photo album where people show off their lifestyle. Sure, you can set up an Instagram page for your business as a means of curating a feed of your own. But this is relatively limited as your goods will only be seen by those who follow you directly. There is, however, an underrated and underused alternative out there: Pinterest. This is a space where people can share images and pin certain items to boards to look over later. So why not use Pinterest, the home of curated aesthetic, as a means of free advertising? Upload your images onto a branded board and open it up for people to see. You can include links to the page where the items are for sale on each image. This means that if your goods catch someone’s eye, they can head straight over to your store and purchase it for themselves. Alternatively, others will then repin images of your products to their own boards. Not only will this help to spread your images far and wide for more people to see, but it essentially saves your products somewhere that people can revisit at a later date when they may be in a better position to buy your goods and wares.

Sure, the usual routes of advertising are great. But don’t feel that you need to stick to the beaten track. There are plenty of other options out there to try out too!
