Smile at a stranger on the street, buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you in line, or give a compliment to a co-worker. By putting positivity into the world, you’ll soon notice that it will find its way back to you with a friendly nod when you need it most.

Live In The Moment

We live in a world where it is difficult to slow down and smell the roses. If you’re able to truly focus on the moment, you’ll notice that your anxiety and frustration levels lower, and your productivity and happiness levels increase. When you’re spending time with friends, family, or your significant other – just put your phone down, make eye contact, and be fully present in the moment. Not only will your stress levels decrease, but those around you will appreciate your full attention and you’ll feel more connected to those that matter the most to you.

Challenge Yourself

Have you ever heard the saying, if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you? Push yourself out of your comfort zone. The only way to grow is to continually push yourself to do new things, embrace new ideas, and stay hungry for knowledge. If something scares you, it could be a good thing. For example, have you ever taken a solo trip? Gone to a new location totally on your own? Sounds scary right? It is, but it also will challenge you to learn more about yourself and what you want from life. There’s no price tag on self-awareness. Knowing exactly who you are and what you want from life are very rare – and fulfilling things.

You can’t look for happiness outside yourself. Happiness starts with you. Stop expecting and start appreciating. Living life in the moment, challenging yourself to grow, and helping others will create a solid and positive foundation. The only way to get started, is to start. Time will pass regardless.
